Mosaic Tile Project

Ann Clairmont has spent many hours with students and staff working on the tiles for our Mosaic project. She helped with design ideas, organized and supervised painting. She and Mrs. Novak have stayed on top of firing the ceramic tiles and they are looking great!

New Elementary Update

Wow! The progress is amazing. February looks to be an exciting month with a Grand Opening Ceremony and move in! Student Council has a few ideas for saying Goodbye to the Elementary School too. We will keep you informed of upcoming events.

Veteran’s & Grandparent’s Day

Thank you to everyone that was able to attend the Veteran’s breakfast and Grandparent’s Day. We appreciate you so much! And thanks for supporting our students.

After School Program

Runs from 3-4 after school, (but on days of early release it will be 12-1). This month’s theme is Arts and Crafts. Be sure to let the office know if your child will be absent. The monthly cost is $20. Single day drop in fee is $2. If your child needs financial support please contact the office.

Winter Program December 14th At 6pm

Our classes are practicing and excited to perform for families and community! Please come and enjoy time together with Marcola Elementary Students. We can’t wait to see you!!

MES Focuses On Kindness

Staff and students are taking this opportunity to focus on kindness. We are noticing acts of kindness with Kindsits (kindness paxits formerly wows). There will be a lot of fun activities including a kindness poster contest, weekly kindsits drawings: hot chocolate with the principal, kindness recess, an end of the month drawing with pay it forward prizes. Ask your child if they have seen a kindness at school or have received a kindsit.

Elementary STEM Projects

Several classrooms are participating in homework STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) projects. We have seen some really great projects return to school.

Second and third grade have been taking part in monthly STEM challenges with their families. Each month they receive a new challenge that they must plan and build with their family. October’s challenge asked students to build a shelter of any kind and November’s challenge asked them to build something from candy. Way to go 2nd and 3rd!

Thanks for supporting STEM!
