February 2022 ESPY Winners

ESPY: Exceptional Student Performance this Year – award is given to students who are doing well academically and have an exceptionally positive attitude about school. They demonstrate respect and responsibility towards staff and their peers.  They show courage by not conforming to Peer pressure and refuse to accept anyone who bullies.

The MSD School Board and the District want to recognize these students by celebrating their success at the beginning of each Board Meeting each month.  Students receive a certificate, meet each of our Board members, and their names are announced on the district website.

February 2022 ESPY Winners are;

Arianna Meray – Kindergarten nominated by Jennifer Macauley

“Arianna is always listening and following staff directions. Never an unkind action or word from Ari. Ari completes all work in a timely manner and is extremely neat! There is no room for improvement in Ari’s behavior and her academics are exceptional.

Annabel Bingham – 8th grader nominated by Rob Jerome

Annabel is an extremely hard worker and is always friendly to her teachers and peers. She is always respectful and never causes disruptions in class that would take away from the learning of others. I have to come to expect that Annabel will be the first student in her class to turn in her assignments.  She is extremely focused and leads by example. The quality of Annabel’s writing and her effort are truly exceptional last month and every month.

Erin Holvey – 12th grader nominated by Kelli Fisher

Mentally and physically, Erin prepares for her day and attacks the classwork ahead completely engaged. Through great questions and organization, Erin makes learning look easy. She thrives on the respect she has earned and reciprocates. As a teacher, I genuinely appreciate Erin’s ability to be a self guided learner. She is able to manage her own time and priorities to accomplish her goals while continuing to be a two sport varsity athlete, an active FFA member, and an engaged member of the Marcola community. Erin Holvey is an example for all to follow and we are very proud of her. ”

These students are all shining examples of the MSD spirit and we are thrilled to be able to recognize them for being exceptional students.
