University of Oregon

Throw sepia tones on an October morning in 1876. That’s when 155 students showed up for the first day of classes at the University of Oregon. They filed into a looming, four-story building in the middle of a muddy clearing, with workmen inside still hammering away on the upper floors, and cattle lowing in the pasture outside. From these rustic origins grew one of the nation’s top research institutions. Today, UO’s campus is vibrant and green, and their future has never been brighter.
