Hello Mohawk Community!

February is going to be a huge month for Mohawk's VEX robotics program, as we get ready to host our two events, and I am reaching out to all of you to see if you are able to provide any support or help with the tournaments, as they are a lot of work, and I definitely need some help!

The first tournament, elementary and middle school, will be on Saturday, February 9. We will have about 16 teams in attendance, so this is a smaller tournament.

I will need help setting up on Friday night, February 8. Some folks will be travelling down from Salem to help also, but we need man-power.

Areas help is needed for Friday night:
-Setting up concessions
-Building the competition fields
-Setting up the team pit area
-Setting up the judges' room
-Moving furniture and panels
-Setting up computers and timing / scoring equipment
-Setting up the volunteer break room
-Planning / purchasing concessions (including lunch meals)

I am also going to need help on Saturday, February 8 for the actual tournament.
Referees (training provided)
Head referee (training provided)
Judges (training provided)
Inspector (training provided)
Que crew / reset crew (que teams and guide the field reset team)
Team and volunteer check in table
Concessions
Emcee

The second event, which is the high school event, is ENORMOUS! We have 36 teams coming from all over Oregon. This is as big as the tournaments held by West Salem. Preparing for, and running, this event is the one I need the most help in.

It is on Saturday, February 23. Set up will be on Friday, February 22 - and will be a much more difficult set up.

Areas I need help:
Building the competition fields - 3 fields in the HS gym, and 1 field in the elementary gym
Setting up the team pits in the elementary gym
Moving furniture, panels, and electronics
Setting up the volunteer break room
Setting up the judges' room
Planning / purchasing concessions (including lunch meals)

I am also going to need help on Saturday, February 23 for the actual tournament.
Referees (training provided)
Head referee (training provided)
Judges (training provided)
Inspector (training provided)
Que crew / reset crew (que teams and guide the field reset team)
Team and volunteer check in table

Building one additional field, if not all of them arrive the day before

Please contact Ms. Klein at rklein@marcola.k12.or.us if you would like to help in some way!

Thank you so much!
