Announcement: New Elementary Principal for MES 2023-24

The Marcola School District is excited to announce a new member added to our team, Mr. Ryan Beck.  Mr. Beck will start as the new elementary principal for the 2023-24 school year bringing a wealth of experience and success in advancing the learning for students.

The district is inviting all families and community members to a "Meet~N~Greet the new Principal" on Thursday, April 27th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Media Center.

Below is a quick bio about Mr. Beck and his experience as an Elementary Principal.

“I have had the privilege and honor of working at elementary schools for the past 25 years, 10 as a teacher and the past 15 as an elementary administrator.  I taught 1st-5th grade in the South Lane School District and I have served as a building administrator in Sweet Home, Creswell, and Springfield.  In 2016 I was named the "Educator of the Year" for the Creswell School District and in 2018 I was named the Oregon RTII "Champion" for our building's work on literacy and tiered systems of instructional supports for students.  I am passionate about creating school systems and structures that support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students and staff.

When I am not working, I am rooting for the Seattle Mariners and spending time with my family.  My amazing wife Amy is a long-time elementary Instructional Coach in the South Lane School District, my son will be starting at the University of Oregon this Fall, and my sixth grade daughter has a blossoming soccer career that keeps me busy traveling around the state.

I am thrilled to join the Marcola School District and I look forward to becoming a member of the Marcola Elementary School community.”
