Marcola School District Board Members want to Recognize our students monthly for exceptional performance at school.
ESPY: Exceptional Student Performance this Year – award is given to students who are doing well academically and have an exceptionally positive attitude about school. They demonstrate respect and responsibility towards staff and their peers. They show courage by not conforming to Peer pressure and refuse to accept anyone who bullies.
The MSD School Board and the District want to recognize these students by celebrating their success at the beginning of each Board Meeting each month. Students receive a certificate, meet each of our Board members, and their names are announced on the district website.
March 2023 ESPY Winners are;
Mason Nation - 3rd grade nominated by Jaime Morneau
“Mason is a model in his classroom. He makes a conscious effort to be respectful and kind to his peers and the staff he sees daily.
Mason is a leader in his classroom. He works hard to make right choices despite what everyone else is doing and even when they might be the hard choice.
Mason is always eager to participate and actively try everything we work on in class. He brings back all homework and his folder each week. Mason is a Model Mustang and I am so proud of his hard work and outstanding character."
Parker Smith - 6th grade nominated by MMS Staff
"Parker is a fantastic student athlete who goes the extra mile to make sure she excels in her classes. In a large 6th grade class, Parker can always be counted on to be responsible and respectful.
As the year has progressed, Parker's teachers have noticed her consistent completion of quality work, her growing confidence in participating in discussion and her focus on being organized with her schoolwork.
This month, Parker and a few other advanced 6th graders have challenged herself to transfer into a high school course with Ms. Lowry. Ms. Lowry reports that Parker has gotten up in front of the room to be the online "note-taker" for the entire class. The class has been enhanced by the active engagement of Parker and the rest of the 6th graders in class.”
Kallee Eck - 12th grade nominated by MHS Staff
“Kallee. is a talented and hardworking student that shows up everyday, ready to learn, and positively contribute to the learning environment each day. She has reached outside Mohawk to engage in challenging material at Lane Community College, and continued to have success with more difficult material.
Kallee also contributes as a leader at Mohawk. She is the student body president, president of the FFA chapter, and a captain for multiple sports. Students look to her as an example, and she takes these roles very seriously. She is always kind to those around her, and has never had a discipline issue at school.
Kalle Eck represents the type of student that we like representing our school. She is well rounded academically, athletically, and socially. She is preparing for her future, while also enjoying her time at school. She is a leader that will be missed when she graduates in just a couple months.”
These students are all shining examples of the MSD spirit and we are thrilled to be able to recognize them for being exceptional students.
