Marcola School District Board Members want to recognize our students monthly for exceptional performance at school.
ESPY: Exceptional Student Performance this Year – award is given to students doing well academically and having an exceptionally positive attitude about school. They demonstrate respect and responsibility towards staff and their peers. They show courage by not conforming to Peer pressure and refusing to accept anyone who bullies.
The MSD School Board and the District want to recognize these students by celebrating their success at the beginning of each monthly Board Meeting. Students receive a certificate, meet each of our Board members, and their names are announced on the district website.
September 2026 ESPY Winners are;
Leland Moore-Broom 3rd grade, nominated by Jaime Morneau
Leland is a shining star in third grade. He comes to school each day ready to learn with determination and a smile. He can be counted on to work hard and take on any challenge I have for him. Leland’s responsibility shines through his respectful behavior and kind attitude. He is a welcoming friend and always empathetic when a classmate is in need. Ultimately, Leland is a prime example of a true Mustang and I cannot wait to watch him continue to flourish in 3rd grade.
Levi Workman - 7th grade, nominated by MMS Staff
Levi is an outstanding student who consistently demonstrates responsibility, dedication, and a strong work ethic. He arrives to class on time, prepared, and ready to learn. His teachers know they can count on him to make good choices and set a positive example for his peers.
Levi takes pride in his schoolwork and goes the extra mile to be successful, even choosing to use part of his elective time to seek additional help and complete assignments. He is also a well-rounded student who actively participates in sports and theater while maintaining a strong commitment to his academics.
Levi's positive attitude, dependability, and dedication make him a wonderful example of what it means to be a Mustang.
Maia Williams - 9th grade, nominated by MHS Staff
Maia is a very motivated student. She is self-sufficient, asks great questions, and engages in the curriculum. Her ability to follow a lesson and help others follow as well is greatly appreciated by her teachers. Maia promptly signed up for the FFA chapter and has already attended a leadership event where she represented our school with pride.
As a new student, her confidence and belief in herself is an example for all to follow.She is always looking for positive ways to connect with peers. In her free time, she bowls in multiple different leagues and is looking forward to the possibility of starting a girls team here at Mohawk.
Maia has great attendance, and has made a positive social impact eachday, in her short time at Mohawk. We feel fortunate to have her.
These students are all shining examples of the MSD spirit, and we are thrilled to be able to recognize them for being exceptional students.
