MSD’s 1st Annual 

“MAYDAY” of Caring

Purpose:

Created as a day to bring district and community volunteers together with the primary focus of improving our campus grounds through various beautification projects. Engage with our neighbors, get our hands dirty, and show pride in our school community. 

Agenda

8:00 – 8:25 Coffee/treats and review and select from projects board *sponsored by PTO

8:25 – 8:30 Welcome Marcola Community Volunteers

8:30 – 11:30 Volunteers begin work on job sites

11:30 – 11:50 Last call – finish up 

11:50 – 12:15 Tools / supply clean up

12:15 – 12:20 Thank Volunteers for hard work/pictures of projects completed

12:20 – 12:30 Feed volunteers BBQ hotdog *sponsored by MSD School Board

 

List of POSSIBLE projects to tackle; 

*Volunteers should bring: Water bottle, solid work boots, and a pair of gloves.  

 

Listed by Job number: District will have a point person in charge of each job area.

#1. Clean, finish backstops at Elem.

#2. Softball – dugout repair(s) / painting.

#3. Track prep – scrape grass, lay fabric, spread micro gravel.

#4. Dig up and replant all vegetation & plants around main HS building 

# 4.5 Relocate vegetation and create walking garden at farm across the street. 

#5. Plant Apple Trees – 

#6. Prep metal storage containers for paint. (Power wash/sand surface areas)

#7. Paint metal storage buildings.

#8. Relocate Metal lockers to MS area.
