Tomorrow is the last day of school and early release for all students! Elementary parent pick up students will be dismissed at 11:50am. Elementary bus riders, and all middle and high school students will be dismissed at 12pm. NO after school program. Have a fun and safe summer break. See everyone on August 31st for open house!
Hello again, Mohawk community! Much thanks to those who have already volunteered to join us on the farm this summer. We are still looking for volunteers for Mondays and Thursdays, July 3- August 31st, 8am-12pm. You'll be an excellent addition to the work environment for our student employees. Marcola School District now has a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified farm. Our district farmer and Mohawk Alum, Brian Silva, is working hard, and making great progress for the district, our students, and the community.
Mohawk High School is offering a Tractor Driving Certification coarse during summer school this year. If you are interested, or know someone that needs to be certified, please contact Mohawk High School to reserve a spot.

We are doing great things over here, much in thanks to our farm educator, Brian Silva, and we're ready to welcome your volunteer spirit to the farm.
Thanks to the Youth Transitions Program and a special alliance we have with both the Department of Health and Human Services and the Oregon Department of Education, we were able to become a site for the Summer Work Experiences program. This means we can employ four students who qualify for extra supports to work on the farm for 9 weeks, Monday-Thursday, throughout the summer:
July 3rd to August 31st.
We need volunteers!
This is where you come in. In order to provide the best possible work experience learning environment for our students, we need regular volunteers who will be on site and working closely with our students. We're looking for volunteers who can commit to a regular schedule throughout the week. You'll be assisting with planting, harvesting, weeding, watering, washing veggies, veggie prep, transplantation, building garden beds, tractor work, greenhouse building.

Please join us for the Mohawk Middle School 8th grade celebration. Wednesday June 14th @ 5:30 in the gym. We will be recognizing the 8th graders as they move onto their high school career. There will be awards, snacks, a photo booth and fun! For any questions, please email teck@marcola.k12.or.us.

Our Middle and High School Theater class are putting on a hilariously entertaining play this Thursday and Friday at 6:30pm in the Media Center. Come support our theater students. See everyone there!
This Thursday May 18th is the last MMS hangout, hosted by the Marcola Youth Center from 4 to 6 pm. There will be NO adult supervision for any students walking to the youth center from the school. Adult supervision will be provided at the youth center. All students will need to sign in and be picked up by an adult.
Tomorrow is the big day at MSD! Come join us starting at 8am for breakfast and coffee before we start our projects to beautify the campus! BBQ lunch will be served as we wrap up the fun.
